SKULLY'S MAZE- REDO

CARNIVALE arrived in the New Mexico town of Espanola for their annual

Lowrider Festival. With no information, or caring, they knew nothing about the

theme of the event, it would be just another small town of marks. But they soon

noticed that something unique was going on here. There were cars everywhere,

not just car-cars, they were all amazingly customized works of art. And then the

'cruzing' started. Taking positions in a slow-moving line, they began

'dancing'. Rising, lowering, bouncing and tilting onto two or three tires as they paraded down Main Street.

Now known as the birth place of the 'lowrider' style of customizing cars, the town had earned the title

LOWRIDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. This style of automobile customizing and mechanical

manipulation had been unknown to the outside world, including all the CARNIVALE Carneys......all of this

is True......the rest of this story, not so much.

Carney 'Skully' McClavish immediately took interest in the amazing articulated cars. SKULLY'S MAZE

was his store (remember, that's the Carney term for a carnival attraction, show, or game), and was

featured in the July 2023 SKULLY'S MAZE article, had gone stale, out of date and not attracting much

interest or revenue for some time now.

THE EPIPHANY:

There it was, right before his eyes, plain as day, the solution to reviving the MAZE.

THE PLAN:

At the end of the festival, Skully opted to stay in town for 'railcar suspension repairs'. Seeking out the

premiere artist, hydraulics and air men in town, they went to work on the MAZE. Job done, Skully hooked

up with a couple of freights to catch up with CARNIVALE, now in California......Perfect timing.

THE REVEAL:

California State Fair...... CARNIVALE in place...... SKULLY'S RAILCAR under a tarp......The unveiling of

the highly advertised 'AMAZING AND EXCITING' new thrill

ride, to take place at noon today...... Advance ride ticket

sales sold out......Trumpets sounded......Tarp removed......

There sits SKULLY'S same old MAZE......sporting only a

new sign reading CALIFORNIA CRUZING. The crowd,

stunned and confused, remained nervously quiet. A barker

steps forward from the side of the railcar and directs the

entry of the first group of riders to enter the MAZE. With a

nod, the MAZE blazes with a million lights, La Cucaracha

blasts from multiple speakers, and the MAZE begins to

bounce, tilt, turn and yes, 'dances'......Crowd cheers.
