MICKY’S CIRCUS
This month’s car is based on a vintage carnival banner (reproduced on the car) of a long forgotten sideshow attraction. I haven’t been able to find any information about this attraction so the following is my version of the MICKY MOUSE CIRCUS.
MY BACK STORY: To create a new attraction, the operator wanted to cash in on Disney’s newly popular character, but fearing copyright problems, he spelled MICKEY without the ‘E’. This hopefully would eliminate any legal issues. But on a hot August day, in a no-name dusty town in Kansas, there was an uprising of the little workers, no doubt due to the lousy working conditions. So they decided to make a run for it right past Carny Bob. And if you look close at the railcars in my future articles, you might just spot a wandering mouse or two.
This car was built on a basic railcar platform (described below). The figure was a casting I made and the 3D printed mice were purchased from a BAGRS member. The banner was copied from the book “Freaks, Geeks & Strange Girls” by Randy Johnson.
